Evgentech’s product comprises a patent pending technology that can be implemented in any Li-ion battery powered device to provide dramatically faster and less damaging charging than possible today. In particular, our technology provides complete charging conventional Li-ion batteries to 100% capacity in less than 1 hour without causing damage. This is a significant improvement over existing charging. For example, mobile device batteries can achieve only about 60% capacity in an hour and it takes 2.5 hours to attain 100%. In EVs, charging depends on the power provided and battery size. The Tesla Motors SuperCharger® 85 kWh will provide 50% capacity in 20 minutes, but it takes 115 minutes to reach 100% capacity. Using SuperCharger as baseline, Evgentech’s technology would reduce Model S full charging to 40 minutes using the existing infrastructure and even less with modest redesign of the Tesla power system.
