Evgentech’s product comprises a patent pending technology that can be implemented in any Li-ion battery powered device or vehicle to provide dramatically faster and less damaging charging than possible today. Our technology provides complete charging conventional Li-ion batteries to 100% capacity in less than 1 hour without causing damage. This is a significant improvement over existing charging. For example, mobile device batteries can achieve only about 60% capacity in an hour and it takes 2.5 hours to attain 100%. Using the Tesla Motors SuperCharger® 85 kWh as an EV baseline comparison, existing charging provides 50% capacity in 20 minutes, but it takes 115 minutes to reach 100% capacity. Evgentech’s technology would reduce Model S full charging to 40 minutes using the existing infrastructure and even less with modest redesign of the Tesla power system. Our process requires conventional circuitry and will be cost neutral or better when commercialized in charging systems.
