SoleReader is a diagnostic insole that measures and records steps to help individuals 65 and older learn more about their movements, resulting in prevention of injury and falls. Practitioners would give SoulReader to their patients to wear inside a pair of closed toe shoes for a 24-48 hour period -longer periods available on a case by case basis. SoleReader has multiple pressure sensors that record the patient's movements and the data would be sent in real time to the practitioner via bluetooth. When the patient returns to the practitioner, the information about their steps will be reviewed, specifically focusing on abnormal and risky movements that could possibly be causing the patient pain or result in a fall.
